The London Medical Schools Research Conference (LMSRC) is a premier annual event that brings together the brightest medical students from across London’s top institutions for a day of collaboration, learning, and inspiration. Designed to foster academic curiosity and professional connections, the conference serves as a vital platform for future clinicians and researchers to engage with leading experts, cutting-edge research, and the latest advancements in medicine.
This year, LMSRC is proudly co-hosted by King’s Clinical & Academic Research Society (KCL CARS), and MedNex, working in a landmark collaboration with all London medical schools. Together, we aim to go beyond traditional academic discussion and explore what it means to be a doctor today.
Our programme is built around key themes shaping the identity of the modern physician. These include careers within the UK, pathways abroad in countries such as the United States and Australia, and opportunities beyond conventional clinical practice. We will also explore the growing role of the doctor as a content creator and communicator, alongside sessions focused on research, academic medicine, and building a portfolio that reflects both clinical excellence and broader impact.
We are incredibly grateful to be hosting this year’s conference with the support of the following outstanding societies and organisations. Their dedication to medical education and research has been instrumental in making this event possible:
BUCA (British Undergraduate Cardiovascular Association)
More Than Medics
Orbion
ICSM Medical Education Society
ICSM Surgical Society
ICSM Society of Research and Academia
ICSM Cardiology Society
Barts Academic Research Society
UCL Research & Academic Medicine
SGUL Medical Education Society
Through engaging keynote speeches, dynamic panel discussions, interactive workshops, and dedicated networking sessions, LMSRC provides an unparalleled opportunity for medical students. Attendees will be able to engage with thought leaders, present their own original work, and actively contribute to the conversations that are shaping the future of healthcare.
